Waveney logoFor many years now waveney football club has been growing in numbers. With this current season now having 54 teams from U7 through to our Anglian combination premier team (step seven of football), Some 500+ playing members. For training we use the 3G facilities at Barnards Football Centre  and at Denes High School.

As a club we pride ourselves as being a community club, a club for all, a club that includes teams for  boys, girls , adults and boast a very good disability team too. Although we are the largest grassroots football club in the east of England, we do still have a big gap in under 18s football (the link between junior and adult football).  We are looking to develop dip farm into a facility that can not only give us under 18 floodlit football but a facility that our club and  first team can be proud of and a training facility to increase our capacity and participation. The start of a ladies team will happen from next season also.

With 4 full size 11v11 football pitches dip farm offers us the space to develop a floodlit grass pitch for first team, under 18s and ladies football with covered seating and covered standing spectator areas.  This leaves three full size grass football pitches for matches and summer training.  The adult Saturday league would still be supported with this facility. Along with any works on such a project we would include installing hard and level access for the disabled and elderly to all pitches. Also improving the lighting and surface of the car park to a hard  permeable asphalt or block paving surface for better, safer access.

The face of sport and facilities in Lowestoft is an ever changing one, but we at Waveney FC hope to keep up the work started in 1978 by Brian Gallagher to get our children playing sports. This development will not only increase participation within our own club but will free up little pockets of other facilities within Lowestoft we current use for smaller clubs to develop their own increase in participation
